When I switched my pup to raw she had the squirts for over a week. Then a week later I was walking down town and BAM
a pile of mud with broken worms in it. I dewormed her. I think
she had the worms before switching to raw but the worms made the switch harded for her to handle IMO. No problems since I dewormed her.
Another point I wanted to make is switching between raw
foods can also cause the runs for a short period of time.
Chicken and fish heads in the summer then deer and elk parts in the fall. My two older dogs have gotten the runs every time.
No big deal.
My wife thinks I am a shit expert. I look at my dogs crap all the time then when we go hiking I always look at the wild animal crap. Thats bear, thats moose, thats fresh, thats old.

when my dogs were puppies, they'd get loose stools for a day or two after switching between two brands of kibble. stay on one brand for a week, no loose stools - switch back to the other brand, say hi to diarreah.
my dogs get raw when i can afford it (still haven't sourced a reliable butcher), and they're about 12 months old, and have no runs any time they get chicken wings, backs, necks, ground turkey, eggs, etc. they switch back to kibble just fine, though they eat with a little less "gusto".
