thanks guys!
regarding veggies, I will "pulp up" some and freeze it in a small tupperware container - I heard the freezing helps to make the veggies be more easily digested. Then I will bring one out and add a couple of tablespoons to food for a few days on, wait a few days after that container is empty, then bring another one out and feed for another few days. Kind of like 3 days on, 3 days off.
It really sounds like it may be easier on the dogs digestive tract and overall health to always supplement with kelp/alfalfa and give veggies as above once in a while. My kid does like to crunch baby carrots though.

Sea vegetables eh? Never thought of that... I'm half-Japanese and my family eats lots of sea vegetables (they're part of just about any traditional Japanese dish, lol) but we get ours imported from Japan so it's too pricey for dog food. Do you find them in health stores, Connie?
Yup! Nice big bag is $2-something. Many days' worth. I have been snagging some for me too.
I was very pleased to see them, because I had been feeding dried kelp.
They are from "Sea Tangle."

but no need to buy a case; you can get one package at the natural foods stores.
After you rinse off the sea salt (they are kept fresh by leaving the sea salt "crust" on) and then soak a bit to freshen and get rid of the rest of the salt, they make a good-size bowl full..... enough to almost fill a one-gallon ZipLock Baggie.

Sounds excellent, and I too use kelp almost every day. (Now I am using the mixed sea vegetables.)

P.S. Of course, I don't think mixed sea vegetables are a must-have. LOL!
But they are available at a store a couple of blocks from me, so why not?

Kelly,
BTW, the EVO has "dirtied" up my kids teeth. One of the greatest things about feeding raw, meaty bones are the white teeth! This is the biggest reason that I don't use EVO more.
Another question; is it ok to give my kid one egg almost every day? I have read 2-3 days a week, any reason for this? I'd like to feed a breakfast of 1-2 eggs plus yoghurt just about every day but is that too much?

Connie: Do you know if Trader Joes or Whole Foods carry Sea Tangle? I want to try them on Arkane.

IMO, raw eggs are fine IF you give the yolk too. (The biotin problem with raw whites is eliminated by giving the yolk.)
Yogurt: Some prefer not to feed dairy. My experience has been that the cultured dairy products seem to be well-tolerated by just about all dogs I've met. So I give yogurt (plain, unsweetened, with live cultures) pretty often.

Whole Foods might. The TJ's here doesn't.
I get it at a tiny local chain that's like a little Whole Foods (New Leaf).
It's in the cold case by the fresh noodles, tofu, bee pollen, and that stuff.

my veggies/fruits are:
celery, carrots, spinach, apples, bananas, broccoli, squash, cucumber, snow peas, green beans
I blenderize all of them and then add organic dried kelp, Missing Link omega 3, and sometimes chicken broth or tuna/mackeral
tonight Brenna got snow peas, 1 lbs of mackarel, eggs, omega 3, celery, carrots all blended
I didn't even have to clean the bowl

We planted 3 years ago a whole bunch of berries in our back yard and have grown like weeds, our dogs have eaten them everyyear when they are almost rippe and we hardly see any for ourselves , last year I added more Berrie bushes and I hope this year we get some, but our dogs love those berries!Plus they look like they have fun searching for the Berries.I have Rasberries(lots), boysenberries, strawberries( a little). They lick our tomatoes(especially that my husband always eats them right off the plant :sick I think one year Yaggo licked one and nibbled on it but never committed to eat the whole thing.
