Please do not use Colloidal Silver for parvo. I have also read it cures HIV - give me a break. The versions at healthfood stores are homeopathic, try water. :rolleyes:

I just wanted to add that not all vaccinations are good for life, because titers vary according to the type of vaccination. For instance, in people, polio vaccine is a one time vaccine; Hepatitis B is a series of 3, and even then the titer may not be at a therapeutic level, which necessitates a second series. Even after a second series you'll sometimes find a person whose titer is sub-therapeutic. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> (I'm following Chuck's advice...)

Like you, I gave my opinion. I'll not berate those that disagree with me, nor will I argue with those that have different opinions. Among the things I've learned while working with dogs is: The only thing two trainers will agree on is the 3rd one is wrong. Have a great day and keep a tight leash.

Bounette, giving those two vaccines later is just as good as giving the whole series; you just had bad luck! Your pup was old enough when the first vaccine was given that there probably weren't maternal antibodies around to keep the vaccine from working. The vaccine manufacturers even suggest only two vaccs in older pups. It could be that your vet got a bad batch of vaccines or something.

how often is that done? lets say you get a pup at 9 weeks of age what is suggested ? i was looking at the vaccines that can be bought in the foster's and smith catolog and i was a tiny bit confused.anyone????

Anyway, Bounette, sorry to see this thread get hijacked. It seems like you are doing everything you can to figure out what went wrong, and I really hope you're not blaming yourself. I can tell that you're not one of those people who looks everywhere but in the mirror when things go wrong. All words of condolence probably seem hollow after your loss, but you have mine.

I don't think I said it before but I'm very sorry to hear about your lost. I have a 22 week old puppy and I couldn't imagine something happening to her.
