Oh wow! I didnt know there was such a difference. Thanks for letting me know guys!
Mike, so if a qt will last your dog 2.5-3 mos, then it would last my dog (53lbs) about 3.5-4 mos. I didnt know it lasted that long. I found a online pet store that sells "VRG Naturals’ WILD ARCTIC SALMON OIL", 64 oz for $39. I'm thinking that will last about 8 mos. My brother is going to start his dog at the same time so I guess we can split that and save a little more $.
William, the only thing I think that is of a concern is the ratio, amount of protein you feed your dog.Remember that crude protein in kibble is hardly a true measure.Raw protein is of course by far the ratio that is pure.I know that when people feed kibbles(been there) we'll put meat on top or an egg or whatever to put more "flavor" if you will for our dogs, but we forget that KIDNEYS can only process so much protein in one setting. And I feel when people feed that way they over load there dogs with extra calories that are not good in the long run.People do the same thing for themselves! Humans can only process 52 oz of protein, tha tis all our kidneys will allow per setting(a day)I think sometimes we forget that they (our pets) have a limit too
Ditto on never having seen a distilled or mercury-tested fish oil for $25/gallon. In fact, none of the good ones come in gallons, as far as I know.
It matters because of the heavy metal residue in inferior products.
Actually, Timberwolf Organics sells a ton different sizes, including gallons, but I'm not sure if they're available retail, or if it's only an option for their wholesale customers. And it is NOT that cheap, for sure. People need to make sure it's WILD salmon oil...not any farm raised fish or liver oil. This is from deep, coldwater, Atlantic salmon.
Here's the link. 2 or more is a really good deal. I'm going to buy 2 4-gallon cases. Dogs and cats both love this stuff, and it entices them to eat things they normally would give you a tough time about, like switching cats to THK, etc.
WOW! Thanks Jenni for the post. That is a REALLY good price. The cheapest I had found 1 gallon for was $71 on Ebay. I can't see how they would sell 2 gallons for less than 1 gallon. Awesome deal.
Uh-oh. I made a boo-boo. I think I may have linked you guys to the wholesale page, not the retail page, because I logged in right before I copied the link. I order enough that I buy wholesale from this site. Check into their programs and see if you could qualify-maybe split it with friends/family? The retail price is $75ish for a gallon, but 2 or more is still much cheaper. SO SORRY!!! Let me see if I can get the right prices to show by logging out of my account. Yesterday, it was the right page!
Ok, guys. All fixed. Apparently, when I'm logged in, the page changes to wholesale pricing, and you were all getting to see my whole account. I logged out, so prices are accurate now. SORRY!
