I clean my bowl everytime. Then I rinse out her mouth with a baby wipe and wash my hands. Then I give the dog a bath...I mean how fast are those bacteria, anyway? After that, I sanitize the crate and proceed to deep clean the entire area...I am afraid...very afraid!
I feel that worrying about sanitation is a very personal issue. Personally--I don't. I am a cook, so I handle raw meat all the time, and after feeding raw and skinning 10 lbs. of leg quarters, I can comfortably handle raw meat. I have no worries about sanitation other than cleaning the kitchen. (Keep in mind, I have no gaping wounds on my hands, and I don't stick my fingers in my mouth after playing with chicken.)My dog leaves no "juice" from the meals in her bowl, or her crate for that matter; she is a lab...'nuff said!!
PS--I also agree with others that we are far over vaccinated as a society, not to mention the anti-bacterial nightmare liquid soap some love so much.

You weenie.
Connie, you can call me any names you want after all the advice you have given me with regards to raw! No kidding! And Bella is doing great by the way...

I'm with you, and pretty soon they will be making a pill for us to take after we handle Raw meat in case "accidentally" we brush our hands over our mouth with chicken juice on them..
