Yeah. She's taking water normally. No hesitation there at all, and she doesn't show signs of dehydration. I'm checking her gums every morning and night.
Jenni: The vet (That I like) sends pet information to the city that I live in. For Noah, he was 8 months and we hadn't vaccinated when we got a letter from the City of La Habra Animal Control stating that we had 10 days to provide them with proof of Rabies vaccination. I'm not sure what the "or else" would have been.

The city/county think all mine are dead. I am serious, too.

I have to say just this alone would make me NEVER use this vet again. I totally agree. What I do with my animals, pertaining to their health, is between me and possibly my vet...to hell with the city. Any vet who actually turns you in for this is, IMO, not acting in the best interest of the animal. My mom's very conservative, allopathic vet will tell her he doesn't agree w/not vaccinating, PERIOD, but he has treated this dog, unvaccinated, for 5 years, and has never once even eluded to turning her in for it. Who does the vet work for, anyway? This is precisely why I tell any vet who is calling or sending "reminder" postcards that the animal is dead.

Yeah. That was my reaction. Actually when I got the letter for Noah I called the number on it (pissed) and demanded to know how they found out my dogs breed and, more importantly, NAME. When they told me I called the vets office and they said it was their policy. But, the vet himself (Dr. Glassberg) is a really good guy, he takes time to talk things out, doesn't discredit our opinions, and lets us be involved in our dogs health. (I've never gotten a snide comment about the benefits of my "Internet education" for instance )
So. I like the actual vet. I was more than enraged about that specific policy.
He's actually an acquaintance of Dr. Jean Dodds, and is totally on board with minimal/no vaccination, etc. But his office...

But I think the Dead thing is an avenue I'd certainly be willing to pursue. It's not like they have the resources to check. They left that nastygram about my trashcans being out of view from the street and I didn't do jack- about that, so I'm already living on the EDGE.
Ugh.
I want to move to Montana.

Yes, David, you are one wild guy!
I'm telling you, they don't even say another word when you tell them ________________ died. It's definitely the way to go. I forgot I told them Widget died (has epilepsy, so no vaccines esp. for him) until I was asking for medical records on Mia, which they couldn't find. They said "All we have is Widget, who passed away in 2002) ROFLMAO.

LMAO!!
Jenni, have I ever told you you're my hero??
That is just too hilarious, I have no idea how you managed to keep a straight face when you remembered your lie. RIP little Widget
David: I can't be nearly as helpful as Jenni. I will simply wish you good luck keeping your pup safe. I don't usually lie to people or break laws but I'd do just about anything to keep my beloved dogs safe. If I don't look out for them, who will? Politicians when they pass their dumbass by-laws?
By the way, what's your girl's name? How 'bout posting a quick intro of yourself & her in the members section so we can see the little sweetie

Carol: She ate a chicken breast with rice and an egg tonight, pretty greedily. We'll see how she does in the morning.
Yuko: I'm off to petsmart right now, but I'll do that when I get back. It's "Macy"
