The concensus of opinion of the experienced dog handlers on this board is that a Halti has no place on a dog's head. It's a modified horse halter, good for horses, bad for dogs. I agree with the concensus on this board.
My vet tech recommended I use a halti on my 6 month old GSD to counter his pulling on the leash.
So I went out and got one.
If you've ever boated a big fish and seen it fight the hook out of water, that's what my dog reminded me of when I put this thing on his head. He bucked and thrashed like mad, crashing into everything within the perimeter of the leash. He literally went nuts!
I gave up and took it back for a refund.
My experience is a prong collar, used judiciously, works well enough to stop the pulling.
