I ONLY work with animal control dogs. If I may speculate. Most people I run into have little to no information on the pros and cons. They simply feel that they love their dog Rex and that some day, before its demise, the may want to have said dog reproduce in homes of making RexII and avoiding loss. I used to feel this way as well until I realized that there are so many special dogs and that each one is special really. In a day and age where people skirt responsibility, I say neuter to avoid reproduction. But Personally, I wont do it, nor do I dock tails, ears etc. God made um, I just watch over them for a while. I am confident that a dog is meant to have all the parts he comes with from the factory. The health of your dog SHOULD take precedence over convenience. But again for the average person I get why its necessary. I get a New Hope list every night with full bred GSD, Rotts, Pits and other sport and security breeds, being killed by the dozens each night. Its a very different view from a breeder or Rescuers eyes.
