... I'm reading the article that's on the same page as the DVD. I'll have to satisy myself with that 'till Christmas. (Or until I have enough money since my list is getting pretty packed with dog stuff! )
Here is my secret strategy, but do NOT tell anyone:
I ask for LB gift certificates. I ask several people in order to get lots, because non-dog people really do not get it that the wish list is as long as one's arm.
They don't expire and LB keeps track of the balance and tells you with each order!

I taught my dog to back up by placing her in between the coffee table and the sofa at first (to keep her straight), just pushing a treat towards her chest. One step, mark & reward, then two steps, mark & reward, and so on. She caught on to it pretty quickly.
That's how i did it too. But I would walk towards him, forcing him to back up & treat him for each step.
The only thing that I have trained my dog so far is how to back up from a toy while lying on the ground, ha, ha, ha (dutch for lol, so he shovels on the ground, no biggie :blush. It is a mystery how he understood it so quickly.
But with the great tips here I will try to teach him to walk backwards.
