If that first vet ever finds her copy, make sure she sends me one too - I'm REEEAAALLLY interested in reading THAT one!!
~Natalya
I still have it somewhere around the house I think. I so have to find it and type some of it out.

like the first vet who told me "Corn is great for us so it's great for dogs too!" Then she wouldn't listen to me and ran all around the office looking and asking everyone if they knew where the pamphlet was about dogs and corn
Really, this pamphlet exists??!!
I want one too!!!!

Read over there in your other thread that you're back from the vet.....and he didn't give you a lecture.
Did you almost float when all that weight came off your shoulders?

Yeah! I actually didn't bring it up at first and my boyfriends eyes on me kind of made me do it, lol. He didn't press any food on me, really. Although he did say that chicken probably isn't the BEST option for allergies because most dog foods contain it. He said something crazy like raw kangaroo would be better, lol.

Kangaroo is one of the exotic protein sources that a dog with food allergies and an unknown or very varied food history might be given as an elimination diet.
Once again, a perfect spot to remind us all to reserve a couple of meats, meaning NEVER to feed them in any form from puppyhood on, just in case an elimination diet is ever needed. Rabbit is a good choice because it's also appropriate for RMBs. Fish is probably not a good choice for many reasons, including the fact that a dog who knows cats has probably sampled used fish-nuggets.

So how are the dogs doing with their new food? Still skinless chicken necks?

Yeah, yesterday I left a little of the skin on because the poop looked perfectly normal-although lighter colored and more compact.
Still more of the same, poop this morning looked good. I think the transition will be perfect! Thank you all for your concern and dedication to this topic. =3

You already know this, but you can probably start adding a *little* more chicken meat and fat if you want. Still holding off on the organs.
Are they eating the 2-3% of their weight in food, too?
This sounds like an absolutely perfect job of switching that you guys did.

Yeah, today I gave them a quarter of a chicken each. Part of a breast and a wing plus a neck.
We currently don't have a scale so I am kind of eyeballing it for now, but a scale is something I want to get soon. He gives more to his pup than I do mine because to be honest, I wasn't following the amount on kibble and just filling her bowl at mealtimes and she could lose a few pounds. She's not as lean as I'd like. His is a good weight though, pretty trim-ribs don't show but muscular.
I bet a scale would be easy to find though, maybe at walmart.

Just an update. We are still doing chicken, but various parts, no organs yet. Poop had been perfect until the day before yesterday. Reesee is fine but my bf's 5 month old pup had a bout of diarrhea in his crate. It was more like a normal stool surrounded by liquid and there was a bit of mucus in there. It really smelled awful.
Since then he hasn't had a bowel movement yet. He's a very vocal boy but since then he's been groaning more than usual when he's laying around. Drinking his normal amount ( which is only a few laps here and there since switching ), eating fine and he seems alright when he's out and about.
