I would like to personally thank each and every one of you that answered my post. The responses were overwhelming.
Every one of you had something important to say and made an impression on me. The pdfs where highly insightful and also made a lasting impression.
I want only the best for my sweet Kaiser, and you all have helped me a great deal.
I will not be using the trainer that I mentioned. I will continue on the training path I have set out on and when the time is right to find another, more qualified trainer I will.
In regards to the neutering, my boy comes first. I have called the Vet's office and have canceled the neutering that was scheduled for tomorrow. I will leave him intact until he is at least 2-3 years old and then re-evaluate whether or not he should be neutered.
I have a long, personally rewarding road ahead of me. I'm hopeful that you all will be there over the next years as I am sure I will be calling on more advice.
My hopes are that in some way I may provide some valuable feedback on this forum to someone that may need help as I have.
Again, the most sincerest thank you to each and every one of you.
You already have provided valuable feedback for the next "generation" of new pup owners who find themselves in similar situations. It does pay forward...
I found Leerburg and this forum right AFTER having my GSD pup neutered... I regret not having had/found the information before hand, but you did... and so it goes!
Welcome to the forum; I look forward to hearing how you and your pup progress.
Yes, Pete, Barbara is correct. We certainly do 'pay it forward'.
I have been able to convince at least one person to feed their precious pet properly and healthfully and it has resulted in a happier, healthier dog for them. And, I learned it here.
I am working on a few others.
Also, I meant to point out in my other post that I would probably have tried to tuff it out a little longer with my female dog, but she is a small (10 lbs as adult) dog and they mature a little more quickly than larger dogs.
