Thank you. We think he's just about five months now, judging by his tooth loss. We got him when he was about 12 weeks. He just showed up on the doorstep one day like he lived here. Never thought I'd end up with a GSD, though I was a fan of Rin Tin Tin and Chips, The War Dog, when I was a kid. Great dogs and I'll definitely always have one now...along with a rottie.
He is a smart dog. He usually figures out what I want within the first 2-3 repetitions.
So, it looks like the bitch next door wants nothing to do with me now. I took my older dog out earlier and she rushed the fence barking at him (owners gone). Then she caught a glimpse of me. All it took was about two seconds of an alpha stare and she dropped her alert posture and went back to the porch. It was kind of like, "oh yeah, c'mon other dog... oh, it's YOU... "bark, bark" uh... um... maybe not".
