Fun, isn't it? Something which would get us arrested for saying at any airport is just perfectly normal here!! (Having just endured my first total body scan, I'm kinda ticked at our airports right now!!)
I have learned from cutting up chickens with my cleaver that they are best slightly frozen when I apply the cleaver (a very large, heavy one is best), as I do not end up wearing bits of chicken that way.
Hey Debbie, great info. I was going to let it totally unthaw but leaving it a bit frozen makes a lot of sense – not as juicy and squishy. Also, "the block" got me thinking - maybe better to use a 2 x 4 or something solid to cut it up on as opposed to newspaper. It's so helpful to get the knowledge of experienced people when attempting something new. Thanks.
And Barbara - sorry to hear about your airport experience – I’ve endured one of those too. Off with the boots, jacket and belt and thank goodness it ended there. It’s quite invasive.
Perhaps we could “Hijack” this thread (another word that would get you arrested in an airport) and share flying experiences. You certainly have my permission. The reason the buzzer went off with me ended up being some sort of metal reactive thread sewn into the back pockets of my jeans – go figure. But the hands-on experience is nothing I ever want to endure again.
Ditto, here. I'd be so fascinated watching the dog work that I wouldn't care in the least. People can be such idiots, though. I've seen folks recoil in horror at the cute little beagles the USDA uses to check baggage for illegal fruit.
