My female has showed me perseverance after her accident and struggle with FCE. She was only down for a week and then she was acting like normal, wanting to play 24/7.
She is doing her absolute best to recover and while not 100%, her attitude is 110%. She is now swimming in our pool, which she loves! We hope this will help her to recover to 100% again.
She has shown me that you just live with what life deals you and you move forward.
My male is my heart dog for sure. In every way, his capacity for love and being connected to me is astounding. He is so compliant for training, much easier than my female. I can tell he is my once in a lifetime dog.
I cherish them both more every day.

All of the dogs that I have had thru the years, have taught me so many things......patience, understanding, how to train & out think, smart, thinking dogs , how to think 'outside the box' when it comes to training , how dogs love so unconditionally, the responsibility of earning my dog's trust, respect & leadership & so very much more.
I can't imagine my life without a dog in it.

Maybe its not disobediance or refusal... maybe you just aren't asking the right way.

Many lessons that my dogs have taught me, including this one, I use when working with my clients. Delinquent teens take a certain amount of patience, and perseverence to deal with. You have to approach them in a different way, and after living with the Mals, this has become second nature!!!
I love all the responses so far!!! Thanks everyone for sharing!!! Keep it up, I would love to hear more!

My first dog taught me that even though my teaching methods back then were a bit hard handed, he forgave me for the mistake.
That sometimes letting go is better than hanging on.
That any mistake made was 100% mine, not his.
Now with Tucker, because he's a rescue, i've learned that a dog lives in the present, and doesn't dwell on what's happened to him in the past. He doesn't feel sorry for himself that his first 4 years of his life with a human were horrible, and he certainly taught me that anyone/anything can learn to trust again.
He's taught me that try try again is a great way to live your life.
that a "good boy" or a scratch behind the ears or a belly rub is sometimes better than any treat i have in my pocket.
But mostly he's taught me patience and to count to 10 before i blow my top.
Don't complain....TRAIN!!! |

Sometimes the car ride is more important than the destination.

Booker is a daily lesson in how great a dog can be. He's my eldest papillon and is one of those once in a lifetime dogs that just knows you mind body and soul.
I too enjoyed this same dog, also a papillon, and greatly missed!
My Lab, If you want something in life, dig for it, keep digging and you will find what you are looking for, after that, cool off in some water, any water will do!
Max, my previous GSD, truly a peace keeper,a champion at tending to his flock, a wonderful image of a GSD!
Bitty, aka little bit, my eternally happy little mutt, no matter what happens, be happy for what you have.
Lexi, If your stressed out, run & run & run, but look good doing it!
Roger- Food is a wonderful thing, toys required, cats really should think about going from 0-60, some dogs do, without knowing, bite the hands that feed them!
