I bought a crate yesterday, but it's enormous and barely fit in my car so I know it will not fit in hers. Maybe a small travel crate for the interim is a wise choice.
Wow they are so adorable! I'm pretty sure that the rule of thumb in terms of how long a puppy can 'hold it' is -
The number of months they are old, plus 1. So, a 2 month old puppy, should be let out to the bathroom every 3 hours.
You must be so excited.
I'm getting excited just watching the videos, and my puppy isn't even supposed to be born until September 2!
Good luck with little Roger...
Oh yes, now I remember! Cute! I love Raj too!
Oh yes that stunning "other" Roger is owned by Tammy Moore, man I love his looks, he's a stunner alright!
Ross, I can't wait to see pictures! I love puppies!
Wayyy too cute puppies! Jelly bellies and puppy breath.... Deep sigh. (And just a bit happy mine is out of that stage, but it IS SO wonderful - so enjoy it!)
Going to pick him up tomorrow morning. I ordered a 15-lb bag of Orijen puppy kibble, 2 or 3 durable toys in case he is an intense chewer, a couple bags of fancy treats, and a 40-lb food container. Also ordered one can of that green tripe stuff to see if he likes it (and if my wife can stand the smell!)
Have crate already; breeder will provide entry-level leash and collar as well as some of the food he is currently eating.
Two questions:
1. Do I need to buy anything else? I am trying not to go overboard until I see what he likes/wants.
2. When I pick him up, should I bring the crate? It's only about a 1-hour drive from the breeder back to my place. The crate is massive and is a giant PITA to get in and out of my biggest car.
I haven't yet purchased a smaller crate for specific traveling purposes...the one I've got is an airline crate but it will be his permanent home.
