I’ve also spent a small fortune on toys that were supposedly “tough”. We’re really lucky if they last an hour. Generally about 20 minutes of figuring out the weak spots and 10 minutes of destruction.
My absolute favorite, and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say indestructible is this: http://leerburg.com/1109.htm
Entertaining, chewy, bouncy. Can be used for distraction or toy reward. It’s incredible and they never seem to tire from it. It’s always an exciting thing when I bring it out. Great in a crate too.
I also like the large black kong and just got this: http://leerburg.com/1312.htm
The Egg is new and I find they lose interest in it quite quickly if I’m not actively making it move. They can’t get their mouth around it and their solution to the frustration is to ignore it. So although not the biggest hit, they haven’t destroyed it yet and lots of fun for interactive games.
CJ, how did your Orbee Cosmos ball hold up? Was it a hit in the long run, or no? (For reference, the ball in my sig photo is an Orbee Cosmos.) Our best toy ever, but Ripley has never destroyed a toy. He had a plush football for 3 years that my brother's schnauzer destroyed in 30 seconds.

Thank you so much for all the great suggestions! I just got back from a trip to Petco with him...he was going crazy without anything to play with so I just bought the three toughest toys they had! Hopefully they will last until I can get some stuff ordered online. I'm probably going to order a wide assortment and just see what he likes best and what lasts the longest. Right now he's got a super tough canvas toy and is a happy boy
He's 6 months old for those of you who asked. Thanks again!

I really like this holee molee, it's the tough version of the holee roller. I wedge long bully stick through the middle, and it keeps Faroh going for a long time.

Just got these for my dogs:
Blue Gourdo by Ruff Wear - feels very tough and heavy.
Diamon Plate ball by Planet Dog - yet another of those PD toys, can't have too many Nice and tough.
Ruff Dawg rubber balls - it's a rubber ball! Made in USA, non-toxic, nice and heavy. Hope it'll last as long as our 2-year old red rubber Kong ball.
These are not chewing toys, though. The only chews my dogs get unsupervised are filled Kongs (XL black ones are the best).
Haydn gets 3' long bully sticks while chilling out in the living room with us. With a stick this long I don't have to worry about him swallowing the short piece. Trade for a treat when he's had enough

I've had good luck with the Everlasting Treat Balls. Toni pops the treat out in about .6 seconds, so I don't bother with those anymore. I have broken or cut up other treats and stuffed the toys. The dogs roll the toys around and the treats come out. If you stuff it with larger sized treats, it could take hours to get them all out My dogs will stick with them until each tiny little morsel is out of the ball.
At any given time, I have about 5 of these balls in the house and another 5 in the horse pasture (where Toni will drop it upon finding an interesting poopcicle). On the Leerburg web page for the Everlasting Treat Ball http://leerburg.com/797.htm , there are pics of Toni working on her very first one. That ball is now about 5 years old and though scratched up, still going strong
Drift managed to "can opener" the fire hydrant, so I stick with the ball.

This is another favorite: http://leerburg.com/1273.htm
Great for getting the dog to retrieve, out, and chase.
This frisbee is what I have used for recall work to because my female would do anything for this frisbee!
The newest favorite here is also the frisbee! Unlike the leerburg one it is tough rubber(from Academy). It goes really far and she will do almost anything for it.

CJ, how did your Orbee Cosmos ball hold up? Was it a hit in the long run, or no?
Hey Meredith, the cosmos ball is holding up wonderfully!! A little faded and a couple of light scratches but it’s still the most incredible “tool” I own. (I received a PM from Meredith quite a few months back telling me about this special ball – she didn’t warn me about the influence it would have though).
I didn’t mention it here because in our house it’s not a toy. It’s a training weapon!! Vince and Venus have a very passionate love affair.
If I need a reliable or predictable behavior, Venus is most effective tool I own. Vince’s drive and focus for this wobbly bouncer brings out an incredible intensity in him.
Nope, not a toy, nor should it be purchased by the faint of heart. The control you gain over a ball-driven dog is enough to bring the average owner to tears. Very, very powerful tool.
From my experience, if I were selling them, they’d be in the training equipment section with the e-collars. Venus is a 127 connection for Vince, very electrifying.
Thanks for asking Meredith Now the secret’s out but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Hi, my name is Alan and I'm addicted to buying dog toys.
This isn't one you can send into a crate but the best toy ever is the Kong Wubba.
For going into the crate the everlasting treat balls are awesome, the rubber is soft and chewable but not easily destroyed and my dogs go crazy for the treats. The treats are a little abrasive but it sure does keep their teeth clean.
for a ball to chew on the ultraball is near indestructible and also makes for a good exerciser when combined with the chuckit. http://leerburg.com/772.htm#ultraballs
I am also considering this one because it is almost a combination of the ultra ball and the wubba http://leerburg.com/1157.htm
