We've had almost no snow this year, but this is one of the reasons I snatched up my neighbor's treadmill when he wanted to get rid of it.
I can sit nice and warm in the basement with my coffee and watch the dog get her workout on the treadmill.
She loves the thing, and I love not freezing to death.

Seriously I must be the biggest wuss. I live in southern California, where 50 degrees is freezing and I am too cold to go outside. I am going to have to grow some balls if I ever get a working line pup lol Skijoring looks sooo fun, if it was a nice 75 degrees out

I want a treadmill for the dog!
Unfortunately, living in a second floor apartment the neighbors would go crazy if I had one. I'd probably have Tash on it all day!
Just another reason to envy you

I'm pretty sure that snow just energizes high energy dogs. Kipp and Kenzi had about 1 1/3 hours of HARD exercise outside today. About 45 minutes of it was chasing their flying squirrels through snow about as deep as they are tall. The other part was breaking a trail through the field on our walk. I was really hoping they'd be out cold tonight. They're chilling nicely, but they're still ready to go if I move.
And Missy was out there with them most of the time. But I didn't make her run very much for her squirrel.

The national guard has been out in force rescuing people
I'm a horrible person.
Statements like that elicit from me hysterical laughter and the phrase "sucks to be them".
By them, I mean the National Guard.

I know this isn't much to the northeners around here, but for us more southern folks this is a MAJOR weather event.
Live it up - it is a big deal! And I think you guys in OK got just about the worst of this storm. The wind there really affects the drifting, too. I lived in OKC for a couple years and the city would shut down when we got 6 inches of snow.

The store shelves are empty and gas stations are running out of gas with no way to get more since the highways are still impassable.
I won't get on my soap box, but no one should need a better example of why they should be prepared to feed/take care of their family for a reasonable lenght of time in case of ANY emergency.
Jennifer - my heart goes out to you. I know how incredibly powerful these storms can be and we can go from carefree and happy to TRAPPED in a matter of hours. Hopefully, before long, you guys are back to normal.
I was saying earlier it was 70 degrees today, and it was. Tonight - back down in the 20's. Virginia is soooo weird.

I had already stocked up over the weekend, but decided to go to the store to get a few more things monday night after work. It was a few hours until the storm was supposed to hit and I have never ever seen such a spectacle!
