I honestly wouldn't use a harness, it will cause him to pull more; like Aaron said. IF he is still lunging then you probably still need a slip or prong. For lunging I prefer the prong because it is equal pressure on the dogs neck. If a dog is lunging on a slip you have no control over where the pressure is put, which I don't like. If the correction is making the reaction worse, you may need to be correcting earlier. If a dog is already in an excited state, then a collar pop will probably cause an even more excited state. But if he is on the threshold of excitement, then a pop on the collar will pull him away from it; from my experience anyway.
I am having a hard time getting Zuki to pull with the harness. I have done so much work with no pulling that now she is just learning that pulling is ok with the harness.
