I draw the line at the Cascades.
Sorry- I was wondering if perhaps we could get together to work on your pup's focus, but 5+ hours of commute one way is a bit much.

We tried to keep a puppy from our border collie's litter long ago. He was a beautiful dog, but when he hit adolescence he would not stop harassing her. I have heard that this is a very difficult combination to manage, so I wouldn't blame your pup. You might be putting him in a situation that is just too much for him to manage. We ended up finding a home for the pup and that pretty much settled everything down.

Hey Aaron I appreciate your offer if you lived closer..yes I am far away from the Cascades. You have an advantage to schutzund clubs and such. I have no clubs around here, I would love to be involved, years ago there was a club around but they did not last and I was involved til it fell apart. Anyways I will keep working on my puppy and it will work out, I know he will come around eventually, hes a smart puppy, I just need to be as smart to train in the right way. I have the patients and time. I know he is young and needs to be taught like a baby. Ed Frawleys video says a puppy has to be taught 90 some times and I agree, it needs to be drilled and drilled, I just need to keep it up.

Spokane is about 175 miles from here..wow it would be quite a long drive every week. Being farmers it would not be feasable. As big as the Tricites is you would think there would be someone who would be interested in a Schutzund club, I would be all over it. Thanks for the info.

I have been trying to get in touch with Willie Pope for months. If anyone has a better way to contact him, please let me know! Spokane is the closest club to me...
ETA - unless someone knows of a club in Colville, or even closer to the border?

I've been in touch with the Desert Dog club. I have relatives who live in Kennewick. The contact I had was not to Russ, but you should give him an email- the gal I spoke with seemed nice, and invited me out with my dog next time we're out in that end of the state. The trained Saturday's, when I spoke with them a few months ago.
