Ah, just wasn't sure if they might have opened up a special season because of over population. I bet Dennis will be able to climb a tree in eight months.
Heck, with eight months on his hands he will probably be able to teach Erika how to climb up with him!
I will not get into a hunting ethics debate on a dog board any more than this one post. Your welcome mods.
This is not a high fence hunt Dennis is talking about.
Maybe city deer are a little more tame than some, but by no means caged. That tame-ness is no reason to allow over population. There is very little natural predation in a city. You end up with nuisance landscape damage and car accidents when left unchecked.
The natural order of things? No. We threw natural out the door a long time ago with asphalt and concrete slabs.
When used for meat, any wild game that isn't contained by fences is a worthy game animal.
Javelina are rather dumb animals. There are TONS of them, and left unchecked would become a problem. I would be proud as hell of any hog or javelina that I kill. Not smart game, not that hard to get close to, but it is food for my family. Its a trophy for me. If you are going to look for an example of wits about a game animal, a javelina is not it.
LOL!! I WAS having a hard time visualising Dennis in a loin cloth climbing like a monkey up a tree...
Long long ago in a place 12000 miles away.....had pictures too. think they all got thrown out with all the other pictures I didn't want to explain to the children and Mrs Jones

Lemme guess.. while you were in the Navy? (asked as a Navy brat... I've seen those pics. My dad didn't think to throw them all out).
Dennis - don't tell me there's any sport in shooting tame deer from a tree stand.
I don't want to debate either, but please remember that tame does not equal placid. Deer kill more humans than any other animal in the US each year. City dwelling and deer that have been desensitised to human presence are the biggest culprits. Tame dear also carry diseases that could harm the entire population the same as their more woodsy counterparts. If you use the meat, it really isn't much different than using any other meat source. My dogs thoroughly enjoy hunting season as much as we do
