Over the last month+ the posts and footings that form part of my home's foundation have all been replaced with concrete; the old cedar just wasn't doing it anymore Over that time period, the stucco skirting had to be removed; I had no idea how exciting the dark shallow space would be to the dogs! After the first time Jake crawled underneath (and luckily was able to get himself back out when I called), I haven't let either dog roam around the back yard for longer than a few minutes during bathroom breaks while I stood next to the house to make sure they didn't investigate.
Everything is now cleaned up, the skirting replaced, and this weekend I am putting the two or three fence pickets back in place next to the house. THANK GOD it is over!! The foundation crew did a great job, but I am so happy to have my backyard back.
As an interesting side note- during this process, Jake suddenly decided that the bathtub was the safest place to hang out while strange men were working around and under the house... too bad he couldn't give himself a bath while he was there, lol
