Great posts Jenny and Aaron -no need to add to these cautionary notes to Samantha...
My sister spent $$$ and travel time to pick up her "agility star" -she has been active in this dog sport for years and when her male Aussie passed she was hell bent on getting an even more outstanding competitor. She's a flashy merle bitch but has manifested reactivity -other dogs in the ring and "men with hats", SA now and who knows what...
So she's working on some of the exact desensitizing steps that I'm doing with my rescue off the streets of Oakland...
I learned you really have to have patience with the pup too. My guy was a ton of work but he is now just turning into exactly the dog I had hoped for.
I never would have made it without the Forum. You guys have held my hand the whole way. Tonite my guy brought a cow in from the field, he was real help. I was super proud of him.
