I also agree with the sentement that military people are awesome to talk to. I had the pleasure of sitting with a unit set to leave for Afghanistan last week. I've never met a nicer bunch of young men. Honest, kind and really fun! My prayers are with them and all who have/will or are serving us overseas. They bought my grandma drinks and invited her to a "club" she obliged and they said it was the best time they have ever had during drills
I am really good with people who agree with me lol. Especially dog people, I could talk about my dog for days. Not so good with people who disagree with me on something I'm very passionate about. I always say things out of line , I forget my filter often. And social occassions make me anxious.
Id be a overly anxious fear biter for sure. Borderline aggressive if you piss me off lol
I find dogs (and other animals) much easier to relate to than people. But I do ok with people most of the time. A good thing I guess since i work in a resort. LOL
Actually the resort I work in is a mixed hotel, timeshare located near Camp Pendleton so we get a lot of Marines especially on weekends. Having 2 Marine nephews I am very familiar with the way Marines work and play hard. So, when they come in I'm very up front with them letting them know that this is a very nice resort and not the place to get too wild. I also let them know that I do have the base phone numbers and will call the appropriate person/s IF we get complaints about their behavior from other guests. I very rarely have anuy problems. Military guys are the greatest!

I'm naturally pretty aloof, have a low tolerance for BS and ignorant stupidity.
However... working at rescues and being a pet dog trainer.... I have to bite my tongue more often than I'd like and talk to people trying to change opinions etc. rather than bulldozing in.
Sometimes it's the only way that you can save / help the dog.
I can deal w/"BS and ignorant stupidity" fairly easily. Identify, then tune out. Easy to spot, because its purveyors are usually looking for any opportunity to talk your ear off and lay themselves bare to you.
I've noticed a special tendency to do this among dog owners, who generally are not interested in learning or observing anything so much as they want to tell you all about their dog and how funny and idiosyncratic it is.
Re: Military folks (and LEO)...are usually cool. It's their civilian cheerleaders that frequently annoy me.
