I took it back because we had a hole in the bag. Will rice be OK for tonight? I don't have ANY dog food in the house. I went to buy some diamond tonight but it had gluten in it so I didn't get it. I had planned to feed him some kibble tomorrow.
could I skip his 3rd meal tonight just so I don't feed him more rice and chicken? He also seems to have the hicups or something like that. I don't know how to decribe it but it does worry me just a bit
I fed him almost all kibble and some rice. I didn't see your PM till I got home at 7pm. He was pooping soft poo at 3pm I fed him again after that poo the same meal. Then we were doing marker training ect . He pooped at 8:00 and had VERY watery diarrhea! I'm scared to start this rice and chicken over again because he's getting too thin!! His back half looks thin too..
Quote from Connie :
Nick, watch the whole video. "Do marker training" follows (and cannot be done otherwise) loading the marker. ;\)
Also, considering his gut, yes, I would use tiny bits of skinless white chicken to load your marker (whether it's a word that you do NOT use with him otherwise or a clicker).
PS
Weekends are slow on dog boards (for replies) because so many people train.

He strained this morning (you said in a PM) and had soft poop at 3 p.m. and had watery poop at 8 p.m.?
Why is the quote from the other thread brought into this one? Is it because you gave a lot of chicken rewards and thought it might have triggered water poop? "Tiny bits" meant "tiny bits." That is, MAXIMUM 1/4 cup (measured loosely, not packed) of chicken meat that would have been in the rice. (Tiny bits means plain-M&M size. Particularly with an upset stomach.)
So a very small meal of almost all kibble resulted in water poop at 8:00? Kibble, plus chicken treats? One small kibble meal?
You get it about the small frequent meals, right? And upping the food if needed via frequency and not via meal size?
If he has water poop, you are going to have to restart the rice (feed more frequently, not bigger meals, if he is not getting enough food). And it cannot be allowed to continue (vet if it persists).
Water poop means pooping brown water. You took him to the e-vet before with pretty normal poops that were a tad soft, so do you actually mean liquid poops now? If so, that cannot be allowed to continue.
Please post back and clarify if you mean liquid poop or pudding poop, and how much kibble and chicken treats you fed him today.
we were giving him chicken treats (leerburg bought) for YES. I Gave him a half a cup of kibble mixed with rice. More kibble than rice. I think we got excited about training today and got way way ahead of our selves.
I need to feed him at 11pm. What should I feed? Actually I'll have my wife help me so we can stop this. I'm so worried about my baby!!

In what way did "tiny bits of skinless white chicken to load your marker" turn into purchased treats? The LB soft treats are great; I buy them all the time. But we were/are talking about a dog having diarrhea issues, and I really meant "tiny bits of skinless white chicken."
Nick, if you are so worried, try doing what is actually recommended instead of doing whatever you feel like, and then saying "I think we got excited ... and got way way ahead of our selves." Seriously.
I just posted asking if this was water poop, meaning brown water. Was the 8 p.m. poop brown water or was it pudding poop?
No Connie I didn't see the post on marker and actual chicken. I wasn't just doing what I wanted. I must of missed that somehow when reading about it or I actually didnt see it. I don't recall seeing it as I know I would of fed actual chicken parts then for markers. If i did and replyed then it's my fault and I just plain forgot.

Brown water means back to the rice. It also means you may have to take the puppy to the vet tomorrow. Make the rice plenty soupy to hydrate him (he is losing water with water poop).
