Guys, don't you think that a showboating video thread is in order, where we all can post our own show boating videos? Then we can have a show off competition. Of course the winner will not be the one with the best dog , but the human who is the best show off
Ram, I think this is a great idea!!
Of course a rule would have be to have your dog, trained or otherwise, in the video but it could really be about the best show off human. I like it.
Okay, where's Barbara when we need her. I'm sure she could kick it off with a dazzling display of what her efforts have been decreasing. And how wonderful would it be to see Falcon again.

A showboating video thread is good only if it lasts long enough for a) me to learn to shoot videos that aren't mostly my hand or the ceiling, and b) for Chloe to learn something cool!
Hey Jody, a well respected forum member proved to us the other day that threads can be timeless.
I'm sure you’ll have plenty of time. At least a good year anyway.
Ram, I remember way back when you asked a question about getting your dogs to ignore street dogs, hogs, crowds of people, etc. I was thinking, wow, I wonder if that'll ever happen?
Thank you for your kind words.
To tell you the truth I too was wondering if that would ever happen. But I was very lucky to get 4 great dogs who would work with me. It was a do or die situation for me. The distractions go from 0 to 100 the moment I step out of my house. So the only way was to teach them to deal with it. There is no place to do the gradual desensitization.
I asked for advice here and got a lot of good advice, but some of it I had to improvise. I used what I thought wold work for my situation and the other stuff I made up as I went along.
And if I there is one thing I am really proud of, it is the fact that I can take my dogs ANYWHERE. In the car, to the market, to the restaurant ANYWHERE. I am so proud of that, and I have achieved that with just sheer practice. Making them do stuff over and over and over again in the middle of chaos and using almost zero compulsion.
Two weeks back I got thrown out of the government veterinary hospital, because I was using their premesis to distraction train my dogs. The hospital warden got sick of me and threw me out ....hehehe..... I am proud of that too.
People with fence charging dogs HATE me , because when I see one, I make my babies do a sit stay or a down stay in fron of their houses... I am what they call a PEST.
CJ>> I am a shameless brag, I am up for any challenge leerburgers may throw at me.

LOL Ram. Well that sounds kind of like a project in itself. Ram and his wonder dogs.
If you're up to it, maybe we could throw out scenarios (within reason of course) and YOU could perform them and video tape them. Give everybody a chance to see a bunch of India and you'd get to show off your pups and your training.
Maybe a thread along the lines of "What should Ram do next?" Kind of like that show "Odd Jobs" but a totally different context. You need to give your pesky evictions some purpose.
You may even become famous and get your own show. Now that would be worth watching. I can see it now - Renegade Ram runs his Rovers through the Taj Mahal.
Of course you'd have to work up to that and have the support of your people.
We could start out with something much simpler. How about helping a little old lady across one of those busy streets? How do people cross those busy streets anyway?
Your pups heel very nicely, maybe the challenge could be for you to make sure it's safe and film a little old lady walking two or three of your dogs across it - while you carry anything she may have in tow.
