Dogs would like us to stay on our territories, farm dogs at least. I believe they think it is dangerous when humans stay away too long, travel too far. I think a dog thinks travel is foolish, humans could become lost.
My dog knows town shoes vs. plane shoes, shopping bag vs. suitcase.
My dog thinks the perfect life would be 2 hr walk in woods, eat raw, sleep by fire. In summer, exchange sleep by fire for sleep in dirt on driveway in shade. A little sheep chasing (in no particular direction) would be gravy.
That he didn't mean to put a puncture wound in my hand yesterday but that the loose dog was trying to take his tennis ball and that I shouldn't have gotten in the way.
My dogs are farm dogs and if they could talk, I think they would tell me that getting wet in the creek or stock ponds is very different from getting wet in the bathtub. I wasn't chasing those chickens, I just happened to be going that way, and if that hen says I pulled feathers out on the way by, it's a vicious lie.
my dog wants me to understand i'm her personal valet. her daily routine
she rides in the car all day no matter what or she throws a fit.(6 to 8 hrs a day having fun and a little work )65 lb malinois trying to lay in my lap while driving, means rub her belly. she still thinks she's a puppy.
when we go to McD, for lunch she eats her sandwich & wants mine and usually gets part of it. barking at the fridge means she wants a treat. she only drinks bottled water and she gets part of a bagel at bedtime (must have cream cheese on it or she wont eat it.) she's spoiled, but it's ok
....That it is a REALLY dumb idea for a person unknown to the dogs, (even if they DO know the owner) to swerve across a road, pull right up close, wind their window down and shout some asinine remark toward the person walking on the icy pavement with 4 dogs, then tut and glare when the big one lunges at their car in alarm, suspecting this car driver is having a go at their owner
Btw, the YakTrax work a treat in icy conditions...just as bloody well!!
I AM coming! I heard you the first two times. Could you just give me a minute; I wasn't quite finished ignoring you. And besides, I don't see a treat in your hand. do you really expect me to come to you with THAT body langage?
I think dogs would want us ALL to understand what love and devotion are all about.
-- That they will be stong for us when we are weak. They will be brave for us when we are afraid. They will make us smile when we are sad. They will do all they can for us, and ask for nothing but our love in return.... that is the nature of a dog...
We can learn a lot from our dogs if we are humble enough to pay attention to their lessons.
Dogs do want ever is in they're best interest. they love who ever takes care of them. i was given a dog from a dept. the officer was promoted, couldn't keep the dog & i was getting ready to retire. i didn't want to start a new dog for less than a year a month later the officer walked up to my squad the dog tried to eat him . he tried giving the dog commands didn't matter. if they really care about you. try this test, lay 2 hamburgers on the floor. tell your dog one is his, the other is yours, see if he saves you one.
