"BTW, how does the hair get through her bed cover and on the mat inside?"
This is dog magic. My dogs have it, too ---- I think only the double-coats. I have a black (single-coated) dog who doesn't have this magic, but the GSD and the fawn double-coat both do.

My single-coated Dobermans have the magic, too! I recently had a sticky key on my keyboard. I use the old-fashioned IBM keyboard where you can pop off the outer cap of the key and there is a smaller, plain key cap underneath. Hopefully, I'm describing a good picture for you here. When I popped off that outer cap to try to see what was wrong with the key, to my surprise, there were quite a few Doberman hairs in there. I could barely believe my eyes! I took several more key caps off and discovered the same thing.

My dobies have that trick too. Never mind the shedding horses or clipping a horse. Now these horses have a super trick, the hair can get all the way to your skin regardless of how many layers you have on

Plus if you wear black, the fawn dog starts shooting out hairs in all directions. Wear fawn and the black dog jumps into gear.
This is synchronized dog-magic.

They do that with tweezers in the wee hours.

Yes, and I've discovered, if you are wearing certain fabrics while grooming a shedding horse, the darn stuff never comes out! But my husband swears by Carhartts. He says the hair never sticks to it.

LOL, I can picture that!
Anybody else ever had the experience of getting a dog hair impaled in, say, your foot? I've had that happen numerous times. I'll be walking around and notice a sharp pain on the bottom of my foot. A close inspection reveals a dog hair that is stuck so deep into the skin it takes tweezers to get it out.

Speaking of tweezers...
I've got one for ya.... One day my desk chair that has the roller wheels was not rolling very well, and so I decided to check out the wheels.
To my amazement, the wheels had a TON of hair stuck inside the inner part. It took me quite a while to get at the hair. Nothing was small enough to get inbetween the roller and the peg that held it in place.
I finally got out my tweezers to get in there.
The crazier thing is how, when I vacuum nearly daily does this hair still get inside ?
Wait for it.........
Yes, dog magic!!

On the plus side of dog hair nobody will asks to borrow my car.
Come to think of it....there are very few people that will even ride in my car. I've had it almost 8 yrs and the wife has only been in it 3-4 times and she just sits there with her coat over her head. Go figure! I bought in new in 05 and cleaned it in '07.....I think.
old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks |
