Are we going to "call it " before we "train it" like a shot in pool?
If so, I want to teach Pinker to "show me the blind lamb". I have a blind lamb that I spend time trying to find every night, it's a pain. I'm not certain he can learn which lamb I mean, but maybe. Can he tell one apart from the other 18? Who knows! He should be able to find the stray, though.....Mara you would know, a herding dog should be able to do that easy, right?
Sounds like fun. Just not sure if I'm not to lazy to do it but I need to put a CD on Trooper and a UD on Thunder.
I haven't done any trick stuff in years. I just may give that a shot.
I'm in!
Betty, I'm betting that a dog can easily distinguish one sheep from another. No different then distinguishing one person's scent from another's person.
Missy used to know some of my sheep by name. She was super intuative and picked up on that sort of thing quickly. So it is certainly very possible. Don't really have any tips for training it though as Missy was self taught. Probably approaching it as a scent discrimination behavior would be you best bet
I may be in. Our next door "neighbors" have decide that they need to do some major round-the-clock home renovations and with plenty of drunken "help" over to boot. It's driving Woozle nuts. He badly needs something to distract him. I was thinking of teaching him to "count" or something like that...

Yes, we will call it first. One week from yesterday we'll start a new thread for everyone to tell their plan/goal (and, if appropriate, to show the present problem in a little video clip).

Jamie, in your case, Gam has to reach Ryuk a complex new trick.
