If the ILP request doesn't go through then try it for a B&T Coonhound.
JKN! I just couldn't resist.
Or, as someone I know was once asked about her two natural Dobermans, "What kind of dogs are those? They sort of look like......giant Dachshunds!"
I actually grew up with two BIG old-fashioned black & tan Standard Dachshunds, and all kidding aside, Adobe's head is VERY similar to what theirs looked like 60 years ago (especially our brood bitch)
She is beautiful...made me think of a large dachshund on stilts because of her ears!
I looked at some of the other dobes and I'm sorta in love with the one named Simon.
OMG, Tresa, I fall in love with ALL of them Every Month And the ones who remain there FOR YEARS before ever getting adopted just Break your Heart !!! But at least they do have MANY regular VOLUNTEERS who give the dogs Lots of Attention -- Meanwhile, "Simon" is hoping to find a Forever Home soon (HINT-HINT) and we are always looking for New Supporters to help underwrite Dobies & Little Paws, even if they cannot Adopt a Dog right now...

So many worthy dogs in need of homes (not just at this rescue but all over the country).
Makes me wish I could have a house full of dogs. If I could......I'd love to make the drive out to California and bring Abby II home with me for the kind of retirement a senior girl deserves.
Candi, I hope we'll get regular updates on Adobe. What a lucky girl she is to be adopted by you!

I hear ya 100%, Cheri, if only we could take them ALL home !!!
Adobe is SO sweet...
Her bed is on the floor next to mine -- Since I don't let her sleep in my bed with me, here's her routine at "lights out":
She lays her head next to mine on the pillow, while her feet & bottom remain on the floor in her OWN bed, and she falls ASLEEP in that posture ... But something about this position makes her SNORE (which doesn't happen when she's lying down) and that wakes her up, LOL -- By then Adobe has satisfied herself that I'm not going anywhere in the night, so she is content at last to curl up on her own floor-level bed, and spend the rest of the night down there
