Sigh.....
Sadly $1 Canadian is worth roughly .61 cents U.S. So, depending upon where you exchanged your $$$ you could get anywhere from $1.40 to $1.43 per U.S. doller.
Travelling is always big $$$ as many places only accept U.S. funds. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
If anybody wants to pay $7,992.00 for a 12 month old dog, I will be more than willing to broker a deal for you for just about $7000.00 even. Save you some money, make me some money. . .
$1000 for each month of age...what are they smoking, and what crackhead is paying it? Perhaps they should sell the dope they're smokin and get out of dogs...LOL
Josh... my subscription to Schutzhund USA Magazine ran out, but until very recently I know that you could buy a real nice SchH1-titled German GSD for $3000-$4000 and the SchH3 dogs started at around $5000 (though admittedly a serious competition candidate could run a lot more). If I was going to put down $12,000 for a dog, it had better have its SchH3 and be ready to take me to the stadium and pass all three phases once it gets there...
If I was ever to pay 12k for a dog, it had better drive his OWN car to the stadium, compete on his own without a handler, and then take me out for drinks after.
I may be able to get a 7 1/2yr old male PSD that is being retired. Dog being retired do too handler leaving dept. No health problems. Dog has had a few handlers with this dept. Administration doesn't want to put this dog with a new handler at 7 1/2 yrs old.
I will put this dog through an elvauation before thinking about taking him.
Well it depends on the dog, how much training etc etc. A "green" dog, one that will work on the suit and in muzzle, with very little obed runs ABOUT 3-4k with shipping. As a regular poster, Lou can step up for the quality of my "green" dogs. He purchased one here last year. The more training, the prices go up. Depending on my cost etc, I've had PH1 dogs sell for as little 5k if I can work it right. For a local department looking for a full handler course(10 week does not include room/board...this is for local depts), dual purpose(patrol includes tracking, area search, buildings etc/narc 4 odors), with the cost of a green dog and shipping etc they are looking at about 10k. It might be a bit more depending one the dogs but that's a rough idea. Hope that helped.
