I am speechless. I knew it was BAD, but to brag about something like that is sick. No wonder everyone at handling classes (purely for fun, no good training classes were available where I used to live) thought Auster (the marshmallow) was such a wonderful dog. "Look! It can walk and trot normally and doesn't bite!" This was even while she was getting over headshyness issues thanks to a "trainer."

Will someone please be so wise as to inform me of something.
I read some articles on the American show breed. One of these guys said that that some of the pups that are born are 'useless' and walk on their hocks, being unfit for show.
Can you tell me, what is done with these pups that are 'useless' and walk on their hocks? Please do not tell me they are destroyed!!!!!!!!
Who knows. You need to talk to that particular breeder. They are breeding freaks and invalids anyway. Using the founder's criteria all those dogs need to be put down, or at least sterilized.
I think and nobody asked me, but I think that they should stop breeding these slant back dogs and start over with solid breeding stock from over seas. They don't have to admit that they were wrong just start over, how hard would that be keep the same name of the kennels " Von whoever" and start bredding some good quailty GSD. I don't see them losing any money, it would just be the fashion favor of today. In ten to twenty years we'd be back on track.
Unfortunately, it will never happen as long as these AKC judges keep pinning ribbons on these dogs. THEY are the reason the more famous dog breeds have been ruined in the United States.THEY are the ones that promote the standards including that goofy back in the GSD. If you look back over the years every time a different breed won best in show, every Tom, Dick, and Harry began breeding their housepet trying to make a couple of bucks. Long ago, the Cocker Spaniel was an outstanding flushing dog, then it became a fad. Likewise for the Labrador Retreiver and the Golden Retreiver. It will always be that way as long as the AKC allows backyard breeding.

What do you expect???? Even the toy breeds can't do the job they were origionally bred for - what good is a yappy, snappy, nervous lap dog? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Where DID that stupid 'angulation' come from, anyway?? It's bad enough when they are young, but have you seen what happens when they get old???
BTW - I heard from someone who knows the handler & dog that the BIS kerry has a nasty personality - so stay away from that breed for a while!!!
