Yes, as Ed points out: E-collars are very effective, and also commonly used here in Norway. Every officially registered blood tracking dog and every pointing bird dog has to go through a "sheep proof test", or what I shall call it in English. E-collars are used by a certified judge to stop the chasing/attacking. Normally 1x2 correct timed corrections are enough to stop a dog from chasing any further, at lest a pointing bird dog or a retriever or similar dogs. My working line Dobermann needed 5 corrections to stop - he continued attacking over and over. But anyway, e- collars are very effective for this purpose. We have a lot of sheeps going around in the woods May-September, and no one really wants their dogs to chase or kill a lot of sheeps when they should be hunting or doing other things.
