I'm working on that one too. The local sheriff's department here says not to get my hopes up, though. Even though they agree with me.
I'll donate money if you want to start a Pro-Shiznit-Slapping lobby group. . .
Count me in as a donator for that group. We had a GSD returned last year- Apparently the first night the family had the dog in the house...God forbid...it sat on the wife's feet whilst she was sitting on the couch and she freaked. Hubby had to give dog back. GRRRRRRR!!!!

I hate when some one takes a dog and then decides that they don't want it!! Most of the time it is really because they can't be bothered and have alot of B.S. excuses!!!!!At least though, some people choose to give up their dogs to rescue services. When I lived in The Bronx, many times people would just drive to a park or highway( or even cemetary!!)and push the dogs out and drive away
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
Can you stand one more on the ignorance of the general public to the various coat colors of a GSD?
Lady in front of Walmart, eyeing our all black gsd:
"What kinda dog is that...looks like a lab mix or sumthing. How'd you get his ears to stand up like that?"
Redneck in front of small town local drug store, looking at my sable bitch:
"Ya know, I shoot them coyotes all the time on my land. Heard they make lousy pets..you'd be better off getting you a dawg."
They do that here too, Jeanette. That's where a lot of our working-line dogs come from. Yups buy 'em for the "prestige bloodlines"--then can't handle 'em and are afraid to admit it to anyone. So they dump the dog in the country and leave it to fend for itself.
If the dog is found in the country, chances are it's from working lines. Some of them have gotten along pretty well, too... One of our working boys had even found himself a nice GSD girlfriend to share his adventures with!
I'll donate money if you want to start a Pro-Shiznit-Slapping lobby group.
What's the address??
People tell me my Pinto colored GSD is beautiful, and how did I train the tail to curl into a bun. Yep! It takes all kinds to make these statements.
