I chose C and D, it's a tie. I do like the way the DARK sables look though so, A is next in line.

I listened to many a "YOOOO Rinty" from corporal Rusty when I was a kid. Between TV's Rin tin tin and Bullet, Black and tans were very popular during the 50's. That probably had a lot to do with the slide.
By the way wasn't the original Rinty a sable?
VanCamp you left out Liver and Blue
The original "movie" Rin Tin Tin was a sable. I heard he bit most of his co-stars. There was also another movie GSD from 20s-30s, named Strongheart, also a sable. Way before my time but I remember feeding a Strongheart dog food when I was a kid and it had a sable GSD on the lable. It's my understanding, the first GSDs were sables.

Well, I'd prefer a bicolor, but you know, when it's the lines you're after, you'll even take your least favorite color variety
BTW, it's least favorite because I don't consider blues, livers, or whites as TRUE GSDs
Something I do not like, is a light face with a dark head and the "widows peak" marking down the top of the head. It looks like a racoon in reverse. The bottom line, still, is a good worker is a good worker, regardless of color.
