I just bought a "Furminator" to use on my GSD's. Wow! ....If this thing is a trimmer blade, how does it get the undercoat so effectively without cutting the outercoat? ....
Well, if you look closely, you'll see that it's really a fine-tooth rake. It's pulling out loose hairs, not cutting them off. It pulls out the undercoat that's being blown as well as any dead hairs in the top coat, but doesn't cut anything off. At least, that's what I think. Or else it's some form of magic.

I love it. I got it from Leerburg and then forgpt I had it. Luckily I remembered before the tumbleweeds buried me.

It works on the double-coated Pug just as well as on the GSD, BTW.

				Thanks Connie,
It's been great to get all that hair off my dogs. My GSD's are not long-hair but have very thick coats that require lots of brushing to keep them looking good...goes with the breed. I've been able to get them cleaned up for summer faster than ever before... I sound like an info-mercial crazy: Arrgh! What I want here is that little "crazy" icon. I've got him at the beginning instead. Sometimes I feel like a pedestrian on the info hiway.

Sorry, leerburg, I didn't realise you are now selling 'em, so I've got one on order from an eBay supplier.
As we have a small cat and a large dog, I'm trying the Medium size which I hope will be OK, if not perfect, for both.

Our Mal x GSD could surely do with some 'fur-removal' in our hot Spanish weather, and we hope the cat's 'fur-balling' will be reduced, not to mention the loads of loose hair we pick up daily from both of them

Yeah:

Actually, I've noticed (slowly that Leerburg carries just about everything. If they don't, they have a link.

I knew about the videos, of course, but when Old Earth Dog Bob said that he liked getting Leerburg gift certificates for Christmas, I started looking .... talk about one-stop shopping....

I have a list on my coffee table of things I want. I need to start a campaign like OED Bob's: Leerburg for Christmas!

				Hmmm.
Maybe Ed could have another training seminar this fall. We could all go, learn some more about training and then run Stephanie ragged bringing purchased stuff down the hill.

BTW, that Furminator is a super grooming tool.

We got the Furminator and use it on our fluffy shorthair cat and hairy MalxGSD.
Our cat now looks about half her previous size, she loves being groomed with it, and fur-balls are drastically reduced.

The Mal needs doing frequently, LOTS came out at first(especially from her tail!) and still quite a bit each time.
She thinks it's a good excuse for a 'nip the groom' game!

It's an excellent, well-made tool.

I'll back up the Mars Coat King. I used one on my previously-clipped, now-stripped English Springer Spaniel and it really helps with the fuzzies. I use it very sparingly on her foreleg furnishings and it helps immensely.
I also use it on two Goldens I groom -- this is where I use it the most since I use a knife on Tessie now. It's great, very easy to use and takes out a lot of coat with little effort.

I can't compare it to the Furminator, however, as I've never used one of those.
