You just... feel bad for a pet, take one in, then another one comes along, then another one.. All the sudden you're a rescue. There is a potentially good malamute breeder with tons of great looking outside kennels in the lower 48 who claims to have been "sucked" in to being a rescue. She told me it wasn't supposed to be a rescue, it was supposed to be malamute breeding and showing. I think the thought rather funny.

Debbie == breeder/con artist
Heather == Person who was conned to buying a puppy from her.
How exactly is Heather Auger referenced to Debbie anyhow? All I can see is the links in email sent to ed.
Well, I'm playing PM tag with Heather over my forum, though I could simply email her directly.
The only kennel website for Heather is http://germanshepherdzone.9k.com/
I do see she had a litter in November. The site does coincide with what she said on another forum(not mine) a long time ago. She is trying to get in to police dog training and breeding I guess. Maybe instead of throwing insults at the smallest descrepencies and sending information her way instead? Her forum is http://germanshepherd.forumup.com/ (sorry if this is looked at as spam)
With people, you can do one of two things. You can have a community reject them, and they breed anyway. Or you can work with them, even if they're byb, pointing them in the right direction. Frankly I'd rather use the second path, only because the person might as for help is he/she runs in to real problems with dog breeding/training/grooming/or other task.
I myself am looking to show, maybe years down the line.. breed. A "working"(drafting, carting), but still a noob. I really do wander though, what makes a person a BYB? Reason of breeding? Cost of pup? Amount of time the person spends with the dogs? I've been pondering this for a while. I guess it depends on the dog. Most family friendly bred dogs are made by families like the lady I'll be buying a saint from in the near future. Is she a BYB? She has accomplished titles for her dogs/bitches, and does bring them up properly. I could've easily went to the mentor who helped her become a breeder, who happens to have a very nice saint kennel. However if I was to breed, I'd be buying dogs/bitches/semen from most of them anyway. You have to give people a chance if they look okay. I traced all the titles and the pups from her litter which did accomplish points/titles.
I'm not too sure about this situation. I do realize it looks suspicious with the sites all being hosted at 9k.com. I don't claim to know Heather at all, nor should anyone here. I believe most of the data, and the email to ed is pure speculation.
Anyway, food for thought.

Umm, the puppies will all be altered before they are sold at 12 weeks?!?!
She's kidding right? Will vets even neuter/spay a 12-week-old puppy??
I guess that explains the 2500$ though...
Lol, I love how she writes that all the puppies who wash out of her selection program will be sold as schutzhund sport dogs. Lucky schutzhund people, they get the chance to purchase some of her substandard pups!!

Looked a little more at her website; she's selling "level IV protection trained" (whatever that means) retired breeding dogs for 15,000$. Oh wait, that price doesn't include health guarantees or even the pedigree. You have to pay more to get those included
Ah, I see she's selling white shepherds too... as protection/schutzhund dogs and even integrating them into her breeding program.
Yep, looks like a quality breeder to me!

David, it is not "small discrepancies" we see at "germanshepherdzone", but big, fat, glaring mistruths which are major red flags. Also when you "feel bad for a pet & take one in & take one in" but don't have the skills or wherewithall to care for them, you are NOT a rescue, you are a "collector". Look, you seem to have a little too much interest in defending this Heather person. Maybe she is your sister/wife/friend, or maybe she is even you I don't really care. If she feels so great about what she is doing to the GSD, let her come out from under your name, log on herself & try to defend her practices. I'm sure she won't becasue she probably likes talking to first time buyers who haven't done their homework. Hell, you can tell those people your dog is in training for a space walk with NASA for all they know.

Those sites are enough to make me ashamed to be from the same province! All I can see are people looking to make a buck.

I have a question, if you do not claim to know Heather then why are you posting correspondence from her?
Look, we all have our opinion in which we are entitled to. The website is not set up well, the pictures are a bit to be desired and unless I missed it, there are no photos of any dogs actually working. Too many mistakes in the grammar and text and too many off the wall, untrue statements about dogs. All this made me say "WTFITS?"
I hope that first time buyers also see this, however I know that when new owners get "puppy fever" they see nothing but the puppy.
Unfortunate but true and that is probably how the business stays alive.
That is my opinion and I will stick to it.
Clarifying WTFITS: (what the f*** is this s***)

Well, as in the previous paste, she thinks arguing with you will be a waste of time and will be the same result. I also believe it true just because people are very predictable and they can say anything they want to without reprecaution.
A waste of time??? Yikes, if I was being professionally questioned/lambasted on the world wide web, I'd at least get off the bench and take a swing!! What? She's going to leave all this "erroneous" information out there for all to see and not at least TRY to set the record straight?? She is either utterly devoid of common sense, pride, dignity and business acumen or she is a worthless BYB afraid to take on the experts (not referring to me here as one of the experts).

Of course she does. All she cares about is making money & she will say anything to do so. Of course she is too chicken to come here, she knows we won't put up with her bs! David, I'm real glad you seem to think it is ok for any tom dick or harry to start breeding dogs willly nilly. Guess those poor dogs are just SOL in your book, eh? We don't alter dogs that young for many reasons, but I've never heard anyone worry about the size of a dogs dick. What the hell is wrong with you?
