Melissa:
Why wait an hour after exercize to feed. I wait after feeding and even then I keep it light paced, but, I don't get the before. I figured dogs were designed to chase, kill, and eat food on the spot hence the exercize then eat program.
Melissa, If you are feeding raw then don't worry about the wait, the wait rule always has been for the Kibble feeders, due to the fact that dogs after exercise will drink lots of water and then eating their kibbles afterwards is a recipe for disaster.
When I take my dogs to the desert for a long run/walk in the early morning, they eat when we get home as soon as I fix it all but I don't wait .And actually they drink less water afterwards.
If your dog is the type that inhales his food simply feed him little by little after he's exercised.
my dog gets let off first thing in the morning to play ball with the boxer and then walk three more times a day so i dont think its exercise, and what is ment by a raw diet??
i must walk my dogs a mile or more a day probably more thats not including the morning so i think it must be the type of food then, he gets at the moment bakers complete and sausage meat with it, is it good for dogs to have wet meat? i was told its not? and is it a good idea to put a raw egg in his food?
