No, I use THK and all raw food....I am looking into becoming a supplier for Taylor Ponds though.
Bravo does not look too bad with the quick look I took though. Might be a good one for you...

The local retailer also carries Honest Kitchen. I think I am going to have to go there Monday.
I have a 1 1/2 year-old dog that has a very sensitive stomach and I have a bit of a hard time getting her interested in food. Since I just started mixing in egg, yogurt, and cottage cheese, into the kibble(not all at once), along with some fish oil and vitamin E, She is eating some better and hasn't thrown up. I am thinking raw just may really help her. And of coarse would be excellent for my pup.
What is THK? Forgive my being a "newbie" to all of this.

Oh gosh! Ha. I should have figured that one out.
I just may be able to make raw work.....I DO have a nephew that has a raw poultry business, and know someone with a fresh meat business. So, I could mix the raw with THK. Now, if I can just figure out the how much part.
Thanks so much!

THK has directions on the back.
How old is your dog again? Rule of thumb is puppie 5-10% of ideal adult body weight (so depending on the breed standards usually) and adults are 2-3% of ideal body weight.
I watch my dogs too, if they gain I cut it a bit and if they loose, I bump it up.
You will also want to add the salmon oil and vitamin E as well.
Salmon Oil that LB sells has directions too and Vitamin E is usually 200 - 400 IUs.
Have you read Cindy's article and seen the Leerburg sample menus?
It is under Feeding Dogs on the left hand side of the page.

I will look there, thanks. I do have a question on THK. On one of the LB dvd's, Ed says he lets the food sit out over night, on THK site I think they say to feed within a few minutes. Which way do you do it?
My GSD pup was born Jan 19th, 2008, my older dog is Dec 1, 06 She is a Golden/Doodle.

So it's 5-10% of ideal adult body weight and not 5-10% of the puppy's actual weight? I just want to make sure.

Maisha
I feed 5-10% of her ideal adult weight which is approx probably 50-55lbs.
Barbara,
I do it both ways with THK as well. If I forget to take meat out, they get THK after I let it set for 15 to 30 minutes. Otherwise I make it and they get it the next day.

It's 5-10% of the puppy's weight or 2-3% of the puppy's estimated adult weight.
For adults, it's 2-3% of the dog's weight, unless you're trying to reduce or increase the weight, in which case I use 2-3% of the desired weight.
Just wanted to clarify that all this is meant for the fresh food, and not the dry THK.

I must have it backwards in my head or something then....
But Ember looks good.....
(I forgot the point about THK, thanks Connie....you are much better at this than I.... )
