Ok how about Flintstones (when they were primetime evenings)...or when you went to a movie, you always got to see Roadrunner cartoon first......and of course Romper Room when she saw you in her magic mirror........
Oh my god...romper room...I must have blocked that out "Be a good do-bee".....aaahhh!
When I was very young we only had three channels, two of them in French.
Though I don't remember those two crows real well. Political correctness or not. Connie you're right, there is a lot from those days we're better off without today.....A lot of things.
Actually for kids, I think the "good old days" were so much better. Most Moms could stay home if they wanted to amd the kids got to stay home and play, instead of daycare, if there was no school, Kids played kick the can, hide and seek, jump rope, marbles, jacks all the time, instead of sitting in front of the computer, and then in the evening they would watch tv with the entire family (including the family dog), (instead of every member of the family having their own tv). They could walk to where they wanted to go without being afraid of what could happen. Of course, this is myh opinion, I am sure alot of the younger ones will disagree and say they were boring times, and I know that some kids had it roough in those days, but, in my opinion, I loved the good ole days.
I work in a level 5 (maximum security)/and reception prison and I see so many young 18 year olds coming in and when you talk to them, most of their "criminal behavior" starts at childhood, it's really sad." I think that is why the shows of "yesteryear" are so memorable, it reminds you of the more innocent times of our lives.
Oh, but Claire, these ARE the good ol days!!! I even have a tee-shirt that says it, so it is true.
BTW. Speaking of old shows...Does anyone recall the show Land of the Lost? Will and Holly and the gang? Ha. I still think about that one from time to time. Were the Sleestak things aliens????
