Not to put a damper on the fun-- but I always look more favorably on contractors who have taken the time to join their professional guild... Just my opinion.
If it's crazy expensive I can see holding off, but if not there would be plenty of benefits. One you get advertising (I looked at their site when I was trying to find someone to look at my chimney), and two it implies that you keep up on current education, etc. I know I'd rather look at the guild website to randomly pick someone than do the blind pointing exercise in the phone book, lol.
Also I LOVE it when someone I'm thinking of hiring has a website. Even a simple, one page affair with a little info about the person/company. Makes me feel like I'm not walking into something completely blind.

I'd go further and say that these days, a company without a web site is almost suspect. Fly-by-night? Not quite aware of the world around them?
Probably unfair, but the 'net is where I look, anyway, so I wouldn't even find them if I didn't find them there.
From the looks of Will's other site, I'd guess that he has no shortage of top site-design resources.
