I start looking for sweatshirts and hats at 16C, if God had ment us to live so far north we would be built like seals......
oh crap... I am
LMAO! I hear ya on that!
Right now the temp is 17F, with a wind chill of 4F. We finally just started getting snow (about 4-5 days ago).
All three of my dogs spend most of their day outside, they love playing in the snow and Lily has taken one of the blankets outside and it's now full of snow (and dirt). They also have the garage to go into. We haven't yet bought a dog door for them, but it's in the works (an extra large dog door is over the budget for this time of year) and we have a small heater in there that puts out just enough heat. They also have their dog crates with thick blankets in them if they want to warm up a bit.
Since it has ben really cold out, I rotate the dogs into the house, sometimes they all get to come in and get on their choice piece of furniture and sleep (that's when I'm feeling really generous, lol).
We do have a plan for turning the workbench in the garage into a sort of dog house thing next year. Until then, the setup we have will have to work-and the dogs don't seem to mind much, but they do rush the door when they know they all get to come in and warm up! They just love me that much
It snowed in the south!!! Woke up Saturday morning to find
an inch of snow covering the valley. I let Luna out to experience
her first snow and she loved it! She even did some winter gardening by prunning a bush next to the porch (if you get my
drift.) She was not bothered at all by the cold and she spent
most of the day outside as me and hubby were painting the
kitchen. Her water froze and she still tried to play in the
bucket by grabbing frozen ice pieces, tossing them in the air
and then running wildley through the yard. Thanks for sharing
your "cold Stories", thnik I'll grab a nice hot cut of tea.
