Lastly, one great story I read was about a canine/handler that worked for a pest control company. They were going to do a demonstration of the dog's termite scent detection abilities for some people at a pesticide company, and they'd hidden some termites somewhere in the building in advance for the dog to find. Well, before he even found the planted termites, he discovered some living in the wall that the pest guys didn't even know were there! Gotta love dogs...!
Hi Matt, I am really thinking about training at least one of my dogs to detect termites. We are in HOA, 8-unit building. $20K to tent, and the guy frankly told us the termites will just come back right away. There must be some way to either spot-treat or bait and kill them.
