Barbara-
Do you think the diatomaceous earth works for mites on chickens?
It does.
I'm sorry Betty, I missed your question. Will is correct (duhhh) - it does work with the chickens.
On a side not, my husband takes 2 tsp. of the FOOD GRADE DE for arthritis in his knees. He takes 1 tsp. AM and PM in a glass of water and noticed a difference in about 7 - 10 days. He stopped it for a while to see if he noticed a change and he did, so he went back to taking it as noted.
May I clarify this diatomaceous earth product(human grade)? I'm getting a little mixed up with talk of humans, chickens and dogs.... (sorry and thnx in advance!)
For dogs you guys use for mites, lice and flea prevention? Ticks? Also for arthritis in the dog? Is there a dog link for dosing, etc.?
Aimee, the ONLY DE you should use for either dogs, human or chickens is Food Grade. Period. No other grade should be used around you or your pets/live stock.
The comment on arthritis was in regard to my husband taking it for his knees.
I think it does if you want to know about chickens there is a site http://www.scnaonline.org/scnaforums/ it is a site for people with the serama chickens but regardless of the breed of chicken it has lots of info. You have to sign up and be accepted like you do on here but it is worth the info.
