We have POSSIBLE, last resort homes for the 4 horses. (Niece of an employee of the farm... but I'm not entirely sure she realizes what feeding 4 senior horses through the winter really entails. Senior horses DO NOT have to be skinny and gross looking, and these guys never have)
Still have 2 indoor outdoor cats, who have no interest shown in them so far. 11 & 14 yrs old.
We found a home for the 14yr old Dal, who we had almost given up on. He's a wreck- fatty tumors, bladder stones, no protein diet, has accidents.... we were prepared to Euth him. BUT, some who has 6 rescue dal's saw us on the news, and showed up unannounced to take him home! Best surprise EVER!
Still have 5 pigs needing home
As far as doggys we are down to
Sadie (11yr old chow mix, just a love)
Moses (5-7 yr Collie/Husky, silly silly dog)
Nanook (11+ Malamute, lots of health issues)
Saki (14+ Chow mix, another one with lots of health problems)
Rufus (1 yr old Min pin-Chi mix)
Ella (4ish yr old Beagle/Shep mix, cute!!!)
Josie (1yr old Beagle Shep mix)
So we've made a lot of progress, but still have several animals.... Sigh.

Did the English Shepherd people contact you about the dog that you had listed as an Aussie mix? She looked like an ES to me so I contacted them and they said that they would get with you all....

She did Ingrid, thank you!!! I didn't realize the connection came from you! She's adopted.
I had never even heard of an English Shepherd. I was glad to feel the need to look another working breed! Seem like cool dogs!
Thank, thank, thank you!

We have a last ditch home for the horses (an employee said she'll take them -all 4-, in a effort to avoid euthanasia), so that is a major relief. We still have 6 dogs, and 4 pigs.
Numbers are dwindling... but still have 10 animals looking for homes.
Dogs:
Saki (Honestly, we'll probably euthanize him. He's got some health issues, is OLD, and has been at the farm his whole life. I don't see him adapting well to a new home)
Sadie (My fav)
Moses
Rufus (a little dog, and only a year old!!)
Ella (How in the world has this dog not found a home!!!?)
Josie (Again, only 1 year old!)

Oh geeze... he's incontinent, has massive arthritis in his spine (roached back), he's going blind, and is mostly deaf, ummm.... hypothyroid, cushings... I think thats it? He's a funny little old man. Generally a pretty happy dog, gimps around and yells at the younger kids. Not incredibly attached to people, because he's grown up with a pack mentality at the farm (all the dogs are loose in the house/yards- no kennels- so there is a serious pack structure to work around) but he does enjoy his 2x daily ear rubs. Sometimes he'll go off food. This is what concerns us. When a dog stops eating, there is a problem generally speaking. We get around it by feeding him whatever the heck he wants. No regular diet for this guy- duck one day, chicken and rice the next, venison, buffalo, you get the idea. We've got several 'flavors' of kibble around for dogs with different needs, and lucky ol' Saki gets his pick. What a brat, eh! He's got the system figured out.
Saki is the lovley old man laying down in the front of this photo.

I'm biting the bullet here....
Is there any way to get Saki to me (in WI) from WA? I can't see him PTS before his time. (Assuming you all at the farm feel I am a suitable adopter??)

Kelly- thank you so much for that offer. I don't think Saki would survive shipping, nor would he pass a health cert exam...
We've been on the fence about euth'ing Saki for about a year now. We'd actually made the appointment before, but cancled it when he woke up having a good day. In all honesty, his good to bad day ratio is about 50/50 now. His time is close. We are a no-kill shelter (can you tell, by all the oldies we had?!?!! lol) but it's coming to a point where we will need to make the call for him, to lessen the chance of him suffering. I'd much rather let him go now before he can't get up, or has a seizure/stroke, etc.... end it on a good note. He's been a great dog, and lived nearly his entire life on the farm.
THANK YOU... but personally I'm not heartbroken about the prospect of letting him go. The farms owner has a really hard time making these calls, which is the only reason he's still here. I would have let him go 6 months ago.
