Just an update: Kevin was headed to SFO to meet the woman returning from Texas with four of the pups from the seizure. He'll be taking one of the females home as a foster. Evidently he has helped to finance this part of their rescue. Once his friend, Linda, has gotten these four settled she'll be going to So. CA to bring another 6 up to SF as well. ALL of these pups will be going to foster homes. NONE, I repeat, NONE of these 10 dogs will be going to a shelter. Kev has stated that he'll take them all before he'd allow that to happen and I know that he would.
As soon as he sends me pics, I'll be sure to get them posted.
At least we know that 10 of these dogs will be safe and on to new and wonderful lives.

That is just awesome Dana, what a wonderful update to hear.
Please send a BIG THANK YOU, to your friend Kevin and his friend Linda for all efforts and loving care in helping foster and find good homes for these dogs.
Just tell them, a bunch of Leerburg friends are enormously grateful for all they are doing.

She looks just like my friends old dog who was a rottxshepherd. He was just the same way, all rottie except the beak.

Nice to hear the new girl gets along well with Gryffin.
The pics are cute! Just makes me really happy to know that at least these 10 dogs have a chance at good life.
I am hoping that Lew Olson has made some connections with some of the other dogs as well. It would be nice to know that as many of them could be saved as possible.
Kevin and Linda are really awesome people, seem like great friends to have! Thanks again Dana.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers. I'll try to keep things updated as I hear more. It will be nice to be able to follow the progress of at least one of these rescued dogs and hopefully more of them.
I'm also very glad that this post brought to light many of the problems in various areas regarding seizures and the ultimate fate of so many animals. I hope with some of the publicity that this has brought to light that there will be changes made not only in laws regarding the fate of the folks responsible for these conditions, but also in the end result of the animals.
These animals should be given every opportunity to be rehabilitated and given wonderful loving homes and a long happy life. It's the absolute least that they deserve after being rescued from such horrendous conditions. I know that this isn't possible in 100% of the animals due to health conditions, etc., but for those that it is possible it should be the first choice - not an afterthought.

This morning's report is that this little girl (and he says LITTLE - only about 30#) is doing well. Loves tormenting Gryffin and at about 4am the two were out tearing around his back yard in the rain playing while he stood in his robe, raincoat and slippers with an umbrella and watched. Such a good guy.
Kev says she seems as though she'll be very easy to train - that she just wants to be loved and guided. I'm so glad she ended up in his hands.
