Nick did you read my book suggestion on your hiccuping thread? Honestly that book will really help and you can read while watching your kids etc. (something that you cannot do on the internet). Hell the family can read it together.
No flexi lead, you are teaching this pup to pull - something that takes considerable effort to put right later.
Go buy a nylon collar, that's too heavy and big for him. It'll probably be 4/5 months before that'll fit.
We had a stranger stop his car and look at our children twice the other day so I've been proactive about our security and haven't been able to spend much time on the forum reading your questions and responses. The police are involved ect
First off, TMI. We don't need to know about your personal life. It's just extrenuos information.

At first he was a maligator and bitting everything. I told my kids to say OW!! if he bites as we all have been doing to nip that in the bud. He's around my kids constantly and we are socializing him with them all the time. To me he barley looked at my daughter but we will work on it. They are always screaming around him and stuff like that.
It's not up to your kids to prevent your puppy from biting them. It's up to you.
Screaming kids around a Mal puppy WHY do you allow this? Kids need to learn to be calm around dogs. Their high energy and frenzy will just feed his. Not good. I don't let screaming kids around my dogs. They want to be near the dogs, they need to be respectful around the dogs...
You also need to teach your puppy what you expect of him before having him around the kids. He can't focus and learn with hyper kids all over the place. It's just hectoc and confusing.

He on the other had will leap about 3 feet in the air and gap the tug in mid air. He's a brave dog!
He's a Mal pup that is bored with energy to spare.
Felix lead = Used by cindy in the video's. That is one reason we decided to get one.
I don't have the energy to post on here much more. Too much criticism. I've never lied to any of you about what we are doing with the dog or how much food. I've tried my best to answer your questions but it seems it's never enough. We've been sitting down and watching the DVD set we got from LB. The pup regressed again tonight when we thought we had just made it and had diarrhea again. I will not be posting on it anymore for now. We are going to give plenty of water and start back on rice and chicken I guess. I don't know what else to do. The vets are closed here until monday. I hope he makes it I'm so stressed about the dog being sick i'm breaking out in hives.
Mara Jessup that wasn't a TMI. I was telling the board why I was absent and haven't responded to posted messages. A VERY good reason IMO..
Tanith Wheeler we have the leerburg DVD set of video's including the puppy dvd's. I think we have that covered. We are just learning and the curve can be kind of steep. PEOPLE please back off a bit. (no disrespect meant) We are learning. I'm used to having outside dogs. This is majorly different from what I've had in the past. I knew it was going to be.
If the dog wasn't sick I would be doing real training with marker work and the other stuff. I'm confused about what to do because of the way things have been going. We are trying our best. I thought by saying good boy I was praising him .
= I don't have the energy to post on here much more. Too much criticism.
wow, how much energy has been expended answering all your questions again and again, many other new puppy owners here have kinda slowed down cause it's always about gambit,

I understand that but it seems that you have questions now and then - having a busy life with kids & new puppy, I can see why it's easier to post a Q rather than searching for info. Just figured that picking up a book and looking in the a-z index would be helpful.
Not suggesting that you've got the wrong stuff but I deal with a lot of puppy people and I guarantee you'd find it beneficial. Considering what you've already spent, I figured that 7 or 8 bucks wouldn't be a big deal if it helped even a little.
I've been there with the sick puppy, my male was so ill he almost died in his first 2 weeks at home. We still did some training with boiled chicken.
I'm sick of hearing (reading) the crap about you not being able to do marker work cause you can't use REAL treats!
One of my dogs HIGHEST VALUE treats is chicken breast. It's in Gambit's 'diet plan' (Which you really didn't clarify. How much chicken, rice and kibble does he get per meal? Better yet, break it down into kCals, so Connie does not have to)
Use it. No excuses.
Watch more videos. More often then not, Ed and Cindy's dogs are NOT ON A LEASH, because they are ENGAGED with the handler! Commonly, if they are on a leash, it's a light nylon long line. No need for expensive leather gear at his age.
Personal details like you shared ARE TMI. You could have simply said you've had a busy couple days. None of us would have pressed for more.

Good luck
I agree with Tanith Nick. I may be showing my age here, I love dvd's but nothing beats a book for me when I have a quick question or I want to find out something fast.
This is one of the few forums I can post on where other members don't get nosy about my personal life...or want to share theirs. He probably isn't used to that...but I hope he'll appreciate it.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
