Lili had thirteen puppies. We believe two were born premature and consumed. On 20 Jan she had eleven more puppies. During the course of the evening two of them were stillborn and consumed. One was rejected soon after it was out of the placenta and consumed, and another rejected puppy was "Saved" by our adult daughter only to have the vet tell her the following morning the puppy was suffering and it would only get worse; so she brought it home and and handed it off to me to "Take care of".
One puppy subsequently ate something she shouldn't have (totally my fault) and it killed her. Since it was my fault I held her for the last several hours as death kept looking at his watch and tapping his toe hurriedly. He finally took her at about three AM and I held her until rigor set in.
The twin remark comes as Alecto is larger than her siblings and is marked closely to Arrow (seventy-two pounds at six months).
Arrow, Alecto, Astrid, Asta, Amber, and Archer are still here. I'm keeping Arrow and the remaining puppies are being donated to the wounded warrior project mostly for PTSD care and few show a promise of physical service dog work. As we hand them off I'm encouraging the vets to use this web site and it's library as part of the training.

Very nice
OT: I just saw two specials on this topic recently, one was more related to the Denver BSL banning pitts as service dogs. Regardless the shows were very touching on the impact it had for both human and dog, they saved each other.
(sorry to change topic, I don't know anything about ear position)

Wow, that is nice.
And what an interesting story on their birth. I just knew the word “twin” was interesting.
Fascinating how the selection process works sometimes.
Thank you for that.
Sorry, that was totally OT as well. I’m sure with all the great information you’ve got your pup’s ear will be saluting the sun in no time.

At 6 months you have an excellent chance that the ears will stand with taping. It's not hard to do at all.

So wonderful to hear Red! I've worked with the WW project in the equine field and it is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Awesome. Floppy ears or not, dogs and horses can heal more hearts and minds than we mere humans can even begin to imagine.

Fantasitic what your doing with the pups and the WWP.
Just tell the folks that the crates you used were to low and the pups couldn't sit up correctly. The ears suffered!
Stop all the floppage, flopificatiotion, droopified talk. Your going to scare away all us old farts!

Here's Arrow's ear pictures. The vet said the problem was too low, taping would lack a suitable foundation.

I would try. What do you have to lose?
Now would be the time to do it though.
