Yes but Todd, I think our dogs are more into pleasing us then I was into doing what my parents say! Especially when you talk about sex! If my dog could get some action I wouldn't expect him to listen to me either!LOL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Ahh I thought he might be getting a little too much action, being the great dog he is, hence a players limp when he walks.

OK, on a similar note, my Labrador has a thing for previously worn, as of yet unwashed, socks. He'll pick one up, and walk around with it, shooting me the occasional sly look to see if I notice. He has had this habit since we brought him home at 18 months, and I've finally come to realize that in the big picture, this is just not that important.
Anyway, last night he did a very interesting thing. First, he brought my daughter, who was sitting next to me on the couch, one of her socks. Then, a few minutes later, there he was, standing in front of me, with one of my socks, wagging his butt like he was very pleased with himself. It took me a moment to realize he was playing a scent discrimination game that I had not taught him! So, I had him take scent from my sock, and told him to "go find it", and he went and got my other sock and brought it to me. So then, we gave him scent from my daughter's sock, and told him to "go find it", and he went and found her other sock.

and I've finally come to realize that in the big picture, this is just not that important. Of course! and it looks like it is even fun for you and your doggie woggie huh? Same here, we have a blast with it... and in your case.. you can train personal family SAR, handy for camping trips in the woods on hikes in case your kids get sperated!

Okay, so basically the dog is doing this because he misses me?
That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Imagine how much of your scent your shoes must hold....how can they not remind him of you? That's so sweeeeet! He wuvs you! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
Chuck, fwiw, even if the dog knows that he is the one who put the shoes there, remember that the presence of the shoes when daddy gets home, and the action of removing them from the closet, to a dog, are separate events. He may be capable of learning, over time, that the presence of the shoes seems to upset master (though I agree that it's more likely that he will associate master's arrival home with the scolding), but he will never connect that to the action of removing them from the closet, unless he is corrected at the moment that he is beginning to remove them from the closet. Dogs would have to be capable of thinking backward in time, and I don't think they do that. They are in the present, and are able to connect rewards and corrections with actions that they are performing at the moment.
