How about a metal car bumper off the back of a used Toyota? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
We use rookies for chew toys.....they are flavored. On the serious note... the only chew toy item that my work dog has not been able to destroy is the Kong Brand solid rubber ball.
I'll second that - the Kong solid rubber ball is a toy that lasts and lasts - my dogs love it - it bounces really high, and it floats too! I had one come in tiwh a boarding dog, and after I saw the possibilities I bought a bunch of them - they are the best toy I've seen in a while. My dogs chew the regular kongs in half, but the ball is really great. I figure - I could drill a hole in it and make a kong-ball on rope too! So exciting!
Oh and the jolly-balls? My dogs LOVELOVELOVE those. Big ones, small ones, horse-size ones (my horse loves those but the dogs end up stealing his) - anyway - the jolly balls don't last. But, even completely dead-flat, with a GSD head-sized hole in them, and little pieces dropping off all the way, my dogs still seek the poor disgusting things out and carry them all over the place, so I guess they DO last a long time, figuratively speaking! Time to go to TSC and get some new jolly-balls!
not sure how this 2 year old thread got revived from the dead, but thanks. A jolly ball wouldn't last 5 minutes with this dog. The solid rubber ball was the only thing that worked, even the REALLY hard ones with a hole he can split in minutes. Hard to believe he is an excellent duck dog...
If nothing else good came from the revival of this thread- I was reminded that it is time to go visit and get some lobsters.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> mmmmn...
