Heh heh heh. What's going on here? VanCamp making a few more freinds?LOL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I get where you are coming from Van Camp. I also now understand what the guy (Steve) is talking about now that he refered to certain trainers. It has made it clearer to me, know thatI can see a picture in my head. Perhaps you do not understand as maybe you and many others do not know these people. Fair enough and I could see how someone could be left out of the loop, but I think there are enough people here to fuel this topic that are not lost but do not see eye to eye, or are lost and are asking questions. What he is talking about is not easy to write out, so I think mentioning certain people brings some things to light and clarification. I do recall and see people saying well "Bernhard does this or that" so I do not see the problem. I do believe that Scott gave some examples of what he was talking about; I myself was a bit lost at first too.
However I have either trained, or talked to some of the trainers that we wrote about and would like to share what i have learned from them or thier students. It has been explained to me hundreds of times, so I do not feel that commenting on certain theories is mis-leading, but informative. I have applied these methods with some of my own dogs and have been happy. I have applied some of these methods and have been not pleased nor impressed with the results. Knowing what I know about certain issue's I find it hard to sit by and read what I see as false and not comment. But I think that this is the whole point to this board. I know we have debated this before but Scott was not on it, and brought it up and there are other out there that do not seem to mind talking about it. Maybe Steve you could go into a more detailed explantion so that others that are lost can pick-up?
Van Camp you are always out of line so why ask? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Yes Mikey, thank you for at least attempting to shadow that insult in a reasonable post.
Translated to "VanCamp you don't know shiznit" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I just want to see a few examples of specific training outlined, because I have not had the pleasure of studying under anyone that has been mentioned. I've been to a few seminars, but that is about it.
i don't understand.....van camp seems to think i started this thread and created all kinds of controversy. I responded to the originator of this thread--Steve C.--whose posts i still do not understand after reading them several times. He brought names of competitors that I have seen on tapes in the BSP. I tried to clarify what i THOUGHT he was talking about: agression in obedience. However, he seems to talk about protection and obedience at the same time. so i thought i would give examples of several competitors, since steve started this thread talking about obedience in schutzhund, and compare their performances in the obedience portion.
I gave specific examples of what I thought was a very happy dog who looked to have been trained with little to no pressure; a dog that looked to have been trained with mild pressure; and dogs that looked to have been trained with lots of pressure.
It seems this thread has turned into a platform for an entirely different agenda. sorry if i created any controversy with my post; my intention was to give specific examples to steve c. with some of the competitors he brought up.
it does, however, appear after reading through numerous other threads that if you are not on the same page as a select few you either.....need to be or.... the thread is closed.
But hey its their board, play by their rules or take it somewhere else. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
My bad Scott, I meant Steve C., not Scott007. I just typed the wrong name in my post. Like I said earlier, dumb me. . .
I'd like to hear more specific uses of "pressure" from Steve C., and even Mike if willing.
The lads, not looking for comments? Well, I don't run this board and I have opinions just like anybody else. That is what I put out there and labled it so, IMNSFHO. You jokers can jaw about anything you want, I didn't close the thread. Jeez. . .
See that, I wasn't the only one. . .(even though that was my fault too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ).
No more "S" named members can post in this damn thread. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
